Don't Underestimate a Small Creature--Adebimpe M. Akindele

A long time ago in the kingdom of the animals, there was famine and all the animals had no food to eat .The famine was caused by draught as the rain  did not fall for many years. After several consultations, the gods of the land were appeased and the rains came. The king ,who was  the Lion invited all animals and birds to a meeting and commanded that every animal must go to their farms to plant different crops. The lion also  said that there will be a general farm for the kingdom,so that the farm produce will be stored in barns for the rainy day.   Unknown to the king ,he forgot to invite Kinkin, the magical bird, who was respected by all the animals for his magical powers .Oh,Kinkin was very sad and angry because of this, and he thought it was because he was a very tiny bird. He decided to make them regret their action. So,when it was time for them to go to the general farm to work ,Kinkin flew to the top of a tall tree where no animal could see him and watched them as they worked.
After planting their crops, they were all happy and went home. Then ,Kinkin set to work .He started singing a magical song and after the song, all the weeds sprang up and ate up all the grains the animals had planted, oh ,he was very happy as he went back home. The following morning, they were surprised to see what happened, but summoned up courage and started to   work  again hoping that everything will be okay and after work as usual, they went home. Now Kinkin who watched the animals as they worked, started singing his song again. When the animals came back the next day, they did not understand what was happening, so after a lot of investigations, someone rememberd Kinkin. When lion the king sent for Kinkin,he confessed that he did it and that it was because the king under-rated him because he was tiny. The lion felt very bad that he forgot to invite Kinkin and begged him. So Kinkin led all the birds to the farm the next day and sang his magical song again, everyone was happy because all the plants sprang up ,and the farm went back to normal.
So ends the story of Kinkin from the kingdom of the animals.
